He’s a quick learner, that’s for sure. You have to take it race-by-race. The first step is to check him tomorrow morning and make sure he’s all right, and we’ll see after that. The boss will make the call.”
Jose Lezcano, winning jockey aboard 1-4 To Honor and Serve (No. 1): “When I looked at the race, I thought a couple horses had speed and my plan was to take him back, but I looked around and nobody wanted to go, I let him go. He just galloped into the lead and when I asked him, he just, like, galloped. He won so easily. I don't know how to explain it. I looked back, and nobody was coming and so I let him run a little bit to teach him to finish it.”
