CALDWELL ATTEMPTS SOLE POSSESSION OF REMINGTON PARK OWNER RECORD ON FRIDAY NIGHT
OKLAHOMA CITY – Remington Park leading Thoroughbred owner Danny Caldwell already owns a share of the seasonal record for wins. Friday night, he’ll try to take sole possession of the mark with six horses bidding to get Caldwell’s 37th win of the season.
Caldwell, 49, of Poteau, Okla. equaled the Remington Park season record for wins by an owner on Saturday night, Dec. 6. When We Believe was triumphant in the evening’s eighth race, giving Caldwell 36 wins for the season. He currently shares the record with Gary Owens of Mustang, Okla. who won 36 here in 2005.
This Friday night, Dec. 12, Caldwell horses in action will be: Corporate Charlie (race 3); Save The Gold (race 4); Ammaroo (Race 5); Bear O (Race 6); and Frederico and Plenty Elusive (race 7). All of the Caldwell horses entered on Friday night are trained by Federico Villafranco.
Caldwell is in line to win his fifth consecutive leading owner title for the Thoroughbred Season at Remington Park and his sixth overall. A competitor throughout the Remington Park year, Caldwell has also won two season titles as leading owner during the American Quarter Horse & Mixed-breed Season in the spring.
The Remington Park final weekend of live Thoroughbred action this season is on Dec. 12-14 will feature racing at 7pm on Friday and Saturday nights. The season will close on Sunday, Dec. 14 with the first of 11 races at 1:30pm. The $250,000 Springboard Mile will headline the final afternoon of the season.
Remington Park is open daily at 10:30am for simulcast racing and casino gaming, featuring the Bricktown Brewery on the casino floor. Admission, general parking and valet parking are always free at Remington Park, the home of the $250,000 Springboard Mile on Sunday, Dec. 14.
