Subject: Credential Application for 101st Louisiana Derby
Dear Member of the Media,
Attached is a application (in PDF and Word formats) to be considered for a credential for the upcoming 101st running of the Grade II Louisiana Derby. Credentials issued for the 142nd thoroughbred racing season will not be valid during Louisiana Derby week, March 24-30.
Please consider your access needs thoroughly and realistically prior to filling out the application. Space in the press box is limited and access will be assigned with priority to those members of the media filing on deadline for Saturday, March 29. Wired internet access is provided in the press box – please bring an Ethernet cable to connect to our network if approved for an assigned press box workstation.
Access to the winner’s circle will also be limited. Trophy presentations and post-race interviews will be conducted immediately following each stakes race, and media should wait until those are completed to get quotes and interviews from winning connections. Race-by-race quotes will be distributed in the press box as soon as possible after each race by Fair Grounds’ Publicity team.
Further guidelines for the week will be attached when you pick up your credential. Credentials can be picked up from me personally on any live racing day beginning Thursday, March 20, or our dark day Tuesday, March 25. They can also be left at Will Call Wednesday, March 26-Saturday, March 29. The Louisiana Derby Draw will take place on Wednesday, March 26.
