First race on Wood Memorial Day moved up to 1:00 p.m.

 

OZONE PARK, N.Y. - Post time for the first race at Aqueduct Racetrack on April 5, Wood Memorial Day, will be 1 p.m., with the Grade 1, $1 million Wood Memorial scheduled for 5:40 p.m. The Wood Memorial will air live, along with the Santa Anita Derby, on an NBC Sports Network "Road to the Kentucky Derby" telecast scheduled for 5:30-7 p.m. (ET)

 

With the exception of Wood Memorial Day, Aqueduct has a first-race post time of 1:20 p.m., which will remain in effect through the meet's conclusion on April 27.

 

The Wood Memorial, New York's premier prep race for the Triple Crown, will be one of 12 races contested at Aqueduct on April 5. In addition to the Wood, Aqueduct will host the Grade 1, $500,000 Carter Handicap, the Grade 2, $300,000 Gazelle, and the Grade 3, $300,000 Bay Shore.
