juliet’s promise delivers thursday at fg
By Graham Ross, Staff Writer
Ridden by C. J. McMahon and trained by Larry Jones, on hand in person for the first time this season, Juliet’s Promise paid $4.40, $2.60 and $2.20, toured the six furlongs in 1:11.69 and increased her career earnings to $58,247 with her third win in five career starts.
Pure Legacy, settled just off the early pace, took command in upper stretch, could not withstand the winner when challenged but was easily second best. Pure Legacy paid $3.20 and $2 while finishing 3 3/4-lengths to the good of Steve and Pat Roe’s Cape Town Bride, who returned $2.40.
Cantrell Family Partnership’s Dreaming of Caden set early fractions of 21.71 and 45.73 before tiring in the drive.
