End-of-Year Deadline Approaching for Foal Registration
The Jockey Club reminds owners of unregistered yearlings and 2-year-olds that the requirements for foal registration must be completed by December 31, 2012, to avoid additional late registration fees.
After December 31 of the yearling year, the registration fee increases to $800; after December 31 of the 2-year-old year, it increases to $2,025.
(These fees include the $25 fee increase that takes effect January 1, 2013, to help fund the Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance, which serves as the accrediting body for aftercare facilities that care for Thoroughbreds and as a fund-raising body to support approved facilities.)
Interactive RegistrationTM is the most efficient means to complete the Application for Foal Registration and other registration requirements. Interactive Registration enables customers to check the status of their applications and, through the Registration Center, view and resolve outstanding conditions of registration.
Interactive Registration has processed more than 1.3 million transactions since its launch in 1996. Sign-up is free at registry.jockeyclub.com.
