BELMONT CHILD CARE ASSOCIATION TO HOST ANNUAL HOLIDAY BAZAAR DEC. 11

OZONE PARK, N.Y. – The Belmont Child Care Association (BCCA) will host its annual holiday shopping bazaar for the children of backstretch at the Belmont Café in the Clubhouse at Belmont Park on Saturday, December 11 at 1 p.m.

Now in its ninth year, the event gives children the opportunity to "shop" for gifts for their parents and siblings from items donated to the BCCA. Guided by a BCCA board member or volunteer, children browse through the available items – everything from toys and games to clothing – and select gifts for their family members, which are then wrapped, tagged, and sent home with the child to share with his or her family.

"This event enables so many of our families to have a happier holiday," said Donna Chenkin, executive director of the BCCA. "It also helps children learn the value of generosity and the spirit of giving, both so important during the holiday season."

The BCCA expects more than 500 children from the backstretch and surrounding community of Elmont to attend the event this year.
