Now in its ninth year, the event gives children the opportunity to "shop" for gifts for their parents and siblings from items donated to the BCCA. Guided by a BCCA board member or volunteer, children browse through the available items everything from toys and games to clothing and select gifts for their family members, which are then wrapped, tagged, and sent home with the child to share with his or her family.
"This event enables so many of our families to have a happier holiday," said Donna Chenkin, executive director of the BCCA. "It also helps children learn the value of generosity and the spirit of giving, both so important during the holiday season."
