RIGATTIERI TAKES LEAD IN TRAINER STANDINGS WITH TWO-WIN DAY
LAUREL, MD. 11-17-10---Owner Manfred Roos, trainer John Rigattieri and jockey Dyn Panell teamed up for a pair of scores on Wednesday’s card at Laurel Park. The two-win afternoon helped Rigattieri leap over Ferris Allen and Hamilton Smith into the top spot in the conditioner standings for the fall meeting. He now has 14 winners during the stand, one more than Allen and Smith.
The New England-based Rigattieri, who has been wintering in Maryland since 2003, scored with Shawan Select ($5.40-sixth) and Afternoon Action ($10.80-eighth).
Forest Boyce leads the jockey standings with 42 victories, 14 more than the injured Sheldon Russell.
There are 19 live days remaining in the meet, which ends Saturday, Dec. 18.

CARULLI’S MORNING LINE IS PERFECT
For the third time during the fall meeting, Maryland Jockey Club handicapper and racing analyst Frank Carulli correctly predicted the betting favorite for every race on the live program. Finishing up his ninth year as the oddsmaker at Laurel Park and Pimlico Race Course, Carulli’s morning line selections have been the actual betting choice at a 70.8% rate (754-of-1,065) this year. He was also perfect on Sept. 11 and Nov. 3.
