OKLAHOMA STALLION STAKES, BLACK FRIDAY AT REMINGTON PARK

OKLAHOMA CITY – Remington Park offers a special Black Friday afternoon racing program on Nov. 28 with the first race at 1:30pm (central). A pair of stakes events for the $50,000 Oklahoma Stallion Stakes serves as the headliners on the card. The Filly Division will pit the top three finishers from the Oklahoma Classics Lassie against each other in a rematch.

Zealous Vision won the $86,000 Classics Lassie on Oct. 17 by 2-1/2 lengths with Dancing Diva second and Rich Uncle running third. All three have entered for the Filly Division of the Oklahoma Stallion Stakes at six furlongs. A field of nine will leave the starting gate in what is the eighth race of nine on Black Friday.

Owned by the Pryor, Okla. partnership of Center Hills Farm and Big Sugar Racing, Zealous Vision rallied to gain the lead then pulled clear in winning the Classics Lassie under jockey Alex Birzer who gets the call again. Trained by Tim Martin, Zealous Vision has won two of her three races this season at Remington Park.

Dancing Diva had the lead late in the stretch of the Classics Lassie before giving way to Zealous Vision. Owned by Harmony Stable of Springdale, Ark. and trained by Boyd Caster, Dancing Diva had taken the lead in the turn of the Lassie but could not hold it to the finish. Jockey Curtis Kimes has been named to ride on Friday. He is the only jockey to compete on Dancing Diva.

Rich Uncle led the Classics Lassie at the start in October but faded after battling with Dancing Diva in the turn, to third. Owned outright by Big Sugar Racing of Bentonville, Ark., Rich Uncle is also trained by Martin. Belen Quinonez will have his regular spot on the filly.
