DECANTER WINE FESTIVAL IN PIMLICO INFIELD SATURDAY
BALTIMORE, 04-13-11---The Maryland Jockey Club will partner with the Maryland Wineries Association for a unique event billed Decanter: A Day of Maryland Wine & Racing on Saturday, April 16, in the Turfside Terrace section of the public Infield of Pimlico Race Course from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. The 11-race card is headlined by the $75,000 Primonetta Stakes. First post is 1:10 p.m.
“We are excited about this event which brings together two industries rich in Maryland heritage,” said Maryland Jockey Club president Tom Chuckas. “It gives us the opportunity to showcase to new fans the great sport of horse racing.”
Sixteen of the fifty licensed wineries in Maryland will set up booths in the Turfside terrace section of the public Infield, offering samples and sales of their locally crafted vintage:

Tickets, available on MissionTix.com, start at $30 and feature an infield vantage point to witness all turf and dirt races, samples of Maryland wine and access to local artisans and specialty food. Food vendors will include Kooper's Chowhound Burger Wagon, Souper Freaks Food Truck and Gypsy Queen Café.
Attendees can purchase an upgraded Decanter Pass for $45 that includes a full size Riedel wine glass, samples of exclusive wines and an entry to win a pair of Turfside Terrace seats at the 2011 Preakness® Stakes.
Prices are $20 for youth and designated drivers.
