2011 NYRA MEDIA GUIDE NOW AVAILABLE ONLINE

OZONE PARK, N.Y. – The New York Racing Association, Inc. (NYRA) 2011 Media Guide, which offers the history of Aqueduct Racetrack, Belmont Park, and Saratoga Race Course, profiles of the circuit’s owners, trainers, and jockeys and a separate section devoted to the Belmont Stakes, is now available on the web at NYRA.com.

PDF’s of the media guide are available at http://www.nyra.com/Belmont/mediaguide/mediaguide.shtml.

In addition to the track histories, the opening section of the 208-page book offers record mutuel payoffs by year for each track dating back to 1992; track records for the different surfaces for all three tracks; yearly attendance and handle figures; a guide to NYRA’s library of online resources, and the Year in Review for 2010.

Included also are profiles, photographs, statistics and yearly standings for nearly 80 trainers and 30 jockeys as well as profiles and headshots of more than 75 owners. This year’s media guide also has in-depth sections on NYRA’s presences on-air, online, and in the local community as well as a new profile of the latest addition to NYRA’s television team, retired jockey and New York native Richard Migliore.

The Belmont Stakes section, filled with facts and figures about the oldest and longest leg of the Triple Crown and the charts for each of the 142 previous runnings, includes full-page biographies of each of the 11 Triple Crown champions beginning with Sir Barton (1919) and ending with the most recent, Affirmed (1978).
