MEDIA ADVISORY: WHITNEY POST POSITION DRAW ON WEDNESDAY

 

 

When: Wednesday, August 4, 11 a.m.

 

Where: Saratoga Race Course Paddock (if rain, moves to the At The Rail Pavilion)

 

What: Live post position draw for the 83^rd edition of the Grade 1, $750,000, Whitney Handicap, scheduled to be run at Saratoga Race Course on Saturday, August 7.

 

Who: Expected to attend are connections of Whitney contenders Quality Road, coming off Grade 1 wins in the Metropolitan Handicap and the Donn Handicap, Blame, coming off a win in the Grade 1 Stephen Foster Handicap, 2009 Kentucky Derby winner Mine That Bird, and Haynesfield, coming off a win in the Grade 2 Suburban, in addition to connections of other horses competing in the race.

 

NYRA Track Announcer Tom Durkin will emcee the post position draw.
