NEW YORK’S LEADING RIDER RAMON DOMINGUEZ TO PARTICIPATE IN LIVE WEB CHAT

SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – Ramon Dominguez, winner of nine consecutive riding titles on The New York Racing Association, Inc. (NYRA) circuit, will participate in a live chat on Thursday, July 29 at 8 p.m. EDT. The homepage for the NYRA live chats is http://www.nyra.com/livechat/index.shtml.

Dominguez, who moved his tack to New York from the mid-Atlantic region in 2009, won his first NYRA riding title at the 2008-2009 Inner Track Meet at Aqueduct with 124 victories. He has taken top jockey honors at every NYRA meet since and also leads the nation in wins and earnings with more than 200 victories and $8 million in purses.

Born in Caracas, Venezuela, Dominguez began riding horses in his native country at age 16. He came to the United States in 1995 and began riding at Hialeah Park in 1996, picking up his first win aboard Solo Moondance on March 27 of that year.

Dominguez, a five-time leading rider at Delaware Park, began splitting his time between the mid-Atlantic circuit and New York in 2007.  He is the regular rider of dual Eclipse Award winner Gio Ponti, and also rode the turf star Better Talk Now, who gave the jockey his only Breeders’ Cup victory to date in the 2004 Turf.

Fans who wish to participate in the live dialogue with Dominguez may log on to http://www.nyra.com/livechat beginning this Thursday at 8 p.m. No pre-registration is necessary and users may simply type questions and comments in the chat field at the bottom of the page for Dominguez to address. At the conclusion of the chat, an “instant replay” is created for future reference.

NYRA has conducted live chats since October 23, 2009. NYRA TV Analyst Serling regularly hosts the chats, and there have been eleven guest hosts: NYRA President Charles Hayward, NYRA Chief Operating Officer Hal Handel, trainers Gary Contessa, Bill Mott, and Todd Pletcher, veteran New York jockey Richard Migliore, Hall of Fame rider Jorge Velasquez, trainer and NYTHA president, Rick Violette, NYRA Racecaller and Director of TV Production John Imbriale, NYRA TV Analyst Jason Blewitt and NYRA Oddsmaker Eric Donovan.
