‘RACING, MUSIC AND FIREWORKS EVENT’

DRAWS 32,681 TO ARLINGTON PARK JULY 3

 

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. (July 3, 2010) – Arlington Park’s Independence Day weekend event on July 3 – a continuous event consisting of racing, music and fireworks – was warmly greeted by a crowd of 32,681 on a beautiful summer afternoon-evening. 

 

“We decided to create a reasonably priced ticked event that included a day of Thoroughbred racing, plus live music and fireworks in order to ensure the best possible experience for those guests purchasing tickets,” said Arlington Park President Roy Arnold.  “For the second straight year, our fans responded enthusiastically to this event and took advantage of our online ticketing system to receive a discounted admission price.”

 

Those in attendance were treated to 10 exciting Thoroughbred races topped by Upperline’s victory in the Grade III Arlington Oaks, plus music by Hi Infidelity in the Park area as well as a special performance in the winner’s circle by the band Jin and Tonic followed by a fireworks extravaganza that lasted 30 minutes, the longest fireworks display in the history of Arlington Park.

 

Arlington Park – the Chicago area’s premier Thoroughbred racetrack located in Arlington Heights, Ill. – will run a 91-day meet in 2010 from Thursday, April 29 through Sunday, Sept. 26.
