Rick Dutrow, Jr., winning trainer of D’ Funnybone (No. 5): "I am beginning to believe this is the first horse I have ever had that didn't like Aqueduct's outer track. He doesn't train there real well, he got beat the only time he ever ran there. Edgar (Prado) has been breezing him there and he told me he doesn't like the track so much.
“We know he likes this track and things set up absolutely perfect for him. He did what he was supposed to. When I saw those two going with each other, I couldn't ask for anything better. Even though he was further back than usual, Edgar knew what he was doing and he knew he had plenty of time to catch up.

Edgar Prado, winning jockey aboard D’ Funnybone (No. 5): “I expected to be a little closer, but he broke well and I just bided my time. I liked where I was sitting. It worked out perfectly.”
Todd Pletcher, trainer of second-place finisher Discreetly Mine (No. 3): “I wasn't expecting [the race to develop like that]. They went quicker than we thought.”
Javier Castellano, rider aboard second-place finisher Discreetly Mine (No. 3): “"He ran very well considering how fast the pace was. I was very happy and pleased with the way he ran today. He always tries hard, but D' Funnybone is a really nice horse."
John Terranova, trainer of third-place finisher Remand (No. 2): “He’s still a young colt. Hopefully, these races will keep moving him forward. He’s got a lot of talent, he’s just got to put it together mentally and physically. He’s probably going to be a late-developing three-year-old. Who knows how good he will get in the second half of the year? He’s got the class and once the light switch comes on, he’s handy. I thought he was going to pick up second place. He was running and galloped out strong.”
John Velazquez, rider aboard third-place finisher Remand (No. 2): “He’s still not running to his potential. He came from longer [1 1/8-miles in the prior race] and did the same thing. It’s hard to gauge. I’m riding him the whole way trying to keep his mind on business. There’s so much talent in there.”
