NYRA TO PROVIDE FREE “BELMONT SPECIAL” ON SATURDAYS
ELMONT, N.Y. – Beginning Saturday, June 12, The New York Racing Association, Inc. (NYRA) will provide free round-trip shuttle service between Avenue U in Brooklyn and Belmont Park.
Every Saturday at 11:30 a.m., and continuing through the final Saturday of the spring/summer meet, NYRA’s own “Belmont Special” shuttle will depart Avenue U, between Nostrand Avenue and 29th Street, and go directly to beautiful Belmont Park.
The “Belmont Special” shuttle will leave Belmont Park at 5:30 p.m. for the return trip to Avenue U.
Every Saturday at Belmont Park, NYRA offers a $300,000 Guaranteed Late Pick 4 on the final four races of the day. The Late Pick 4 is a $1 minimum wager in which the bettor must correctly pick the winners of the last four races on the card, usually beginning with race 7. By guaranteeing the wager for $300,000, NYRA will supplement the difference if the total wagering pool for the Saturday Late Pick 4 is less than $300,000.
Also on Saturdays, fans can catch great graded stakes action, with the Grade 1 Ogden Phipps scheduled for June 12; the Grade 2 New York Breeders’ Cup for fillies and mares on June 19; the Grade 1 Mother Goose for 3-year-old fillies on June 26; the Grade 2 Suburban Handicap on July 3; the Grade 1 Man o’War on the turf on July 10, and the Grade 3 Jaipur for turf sprinters on July 17.
Belmont Park’s spring/summer meet concludes on Sunday, July 18, with racing moving north to Saratoga Race Course beginning Friday, July 23.
