OFFICIAL GRAND OPENING OF TRACKSIDE OTB AT SUNDANCE SALOON SLATED FOR FRIDAY, JUNE 11

 

WAUKEGAN, Ill. (June 7, 2010) –Arlington Park will celebrate the official grand opening of its second Trackside wagering operation, located within Sundance Saloon at 300 Lakehurst Road, on Friday, June 11 with a 4 p.m. ribbon cutting ceremony.  The new location has been operating on a limited schedule since last Saturday but will start its full seven-day-and-night schedule this week.

 

The additional location is being opened both as a marriage between a country and western establishment that provides a unique experience for those who like to dance and have fun with the fun and excitement of the best in Thoroughbred and Harness racing seven days and seven nights a week. It will provide an additional wagering option for those horseplayers displaced when Dairyland Greyhound Park ceased simulcast betting at the end of last year.

 

"Our two-years of effort in bringing a Trackside OTB to Sundance Saloon has finally come to fruition," said Sundance owner Art Lake.  "It will be great to finally throw the switch to the 'on' position for this great new joint venture."

 

The formal Grand Opening Celebration will be held Friday, June 11, at 4 p.m. and will feature remarks from Arlington Park officials as well as officials from the City of Waukegan.

 

The facility has approximately 62,000 square feet on two-floors, of which  2,500 square feet are dedicated for a teletheater for wagering on horse races on races from Arlington and all Illinois racetracks, Churchill Downs Simulcast Network ("CDSN") tracks and other major racetracks throughout North America and from around the world.

 

The new location will feature over 80 plasma and LCD television monitors ranging in size from 16" personal desktop units to 110" large-screen wall displays, and 15 betting machines. 

 

            Sundance Saloon is located on the west side of Fountain Square, at the corner of State Route 120 and Lakehurst Road (one half mile off Interstate 94 - just south of Great America). The popular local entertainment spot supports both local and national musical talent. On any given night enjoy their in house DJ as he keeps the floor hopping on the 4000 sq. ft. dance floor.  Complimentary line and couples dancing is taught on many evenings. This multi-use country/western establishment provides a unique experience for those who like to dance, have a bite to eat, have fun, while also providing services and catering for businesses, conventions, meetings and special events.
