Go for Wand Handicap (G2) Quotes

Michael McCarthy, assistant to winning trainer Todd Pletcher, of Royal Lahaina (No. 3): "She'd been keeping some heady company. She'd trained well the past couple of weeks and she certainly has an affinity for Aqueduct. Jose [Ortiz] gave her a super ride. Things shook out nicely for them."

Jose Ortiz, winning jockey aboard Royal Lahaina (No. 3): "She broke very well and I was able to get perfect position on the outside. At the three-eighths pole I knew I had a lot of horse so I just waited a little bit. When I asked her to go, she did."

Tom Albertrani, trainer of beaten favorite and runner-up Centring (No. 2): "She finished up nicely; it was a little short. She's always right there. One of these days, we'll crack with her."

Rajiv Maragh, jockey aboard beaten favorite and runner-up Centring (No. 2): "The distance is a little shorter than her best distance. I wanted to keep her six lengths behind; those were my instructions. [Trainer] Tom [Albertrani] wanted me to settle in and come running."
