Castellano was treated and released Wednesday night from North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset, N.Y., where all tests came back negative, said Muzikar. Castellano, 36, the leading rider on The New York Racing Association, Inc. (NYRA) circuit with 220 victories, was unseated when his mount, Atlantic Dream, stumbled and fell after finishing last in the 1 1/16-mile maiden race. Castellano was transported to First Aid and then taken to the hospital complaining of pain in his chest. Atlantic Dreams walked off the track. A native of Venezuela, Castellano leads the nation in terms of both victories (317) and purses earned ($25.5 million). -30-
