BRIAN W. SPENCER JOINS FAIR GROUNDS AS TRACK ANALYST AND RACING COMMUNICATIONS CONTACT
NEW ORLEANS (Thursday, October 24, 2013) – As previously announced, Brian W. Spencer has been hired to replace the long-tenured Katie Mikolay Gensler, out on maternity leave, as the Fair Grounds’ Track Analyst for the upcoming 2013-2014 racing season opening Friday, November 22.
Spencer has served as a part-time paddock analyst at Arlington Park over the past two racing seasons and joined the communications team at the Chicago oval during their 2013 racing meet writing feature stories, stakes advances and recaps among other media and handicapping-related duties. Spencer arrived in New Orleans during the off-season and along with his work as the track’s racing analyst will also be prominent as the Racing Communications contact.
Spencer will work closely with members of the media to relay important information regarding key dates and events on the thoroughbred racing calendar and will be the contact for media inquiries throughout the racing season.
