BOOLEANA JUST GETS UP OVER DREAM ROYAL WEDNESDAY AT REMINGTON PARK
OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma-bred females were featured in Wednesday’s $36,800 allowance event at Remington Park. Dream Royal entered the stretch of the 1 mile-70 yard race with a clear lead but could not hold off the late move by Booleanna who won by a neck.
Owned by Bob Pratt of Lindsay, Okla. and trained by Kenny Nolen, Booleanna managed to catch Dream Royal in the final three strides before the finish under the veteran Perry Compton. A 5-year-old mare, Booleanna crossed the finish in 1:43.83 over the fast main track.
Booleanna was 7-1 in the wagering and paid $16.60 to win, $6.80 to place and $4.60 to show. Dream Royal paid $8.20 to place and $5.40 to show. Gotcha Okie was a belated third, returning $4.40 to show.
Heatofthestorm was the beaten 6-5 wagering favorite, finishing fourth.
The win was the third from 12 career starts for Booleanna, a daughter of Scottish Halo from the Kentucky Jazz mare Miss Leah Lou. All three of her lifetime wins have come at Remington Park. The first-place check of $21,145 moves Booleanna to $60,946 overall.
Jockey Lindey Wade had three wins on the Wednesday night card. He scored in three of the first four races of the night. Wade won aboard Smokey Deputy ($9.20 to win) in the first race and then with Momentum Investor ($2.80) in the third race and Banner Cat ($4.20) in the fourth.
The Wade hat trick gives him 41 wins for the season and moved him into third place in the jockey standings behind Cliff Berry (63) and Luis Quinonez (55).
