NYRA TO OFFER WAGERING ON LONGCHAMP'S ARC WEEKEND

 

ELMONT, N.Y. – This weekend, New York racing fans at Aqueduct Racetrack, Belmont Park and those using NYRA Rewards will be able to watch and wager on racing at Longchamp, including Sunday's Group 1 Qatar Prix de L'Arc de Triomphe.

 

On Saturday, October 6, and Sunday, October 7, Win and Place (which is international Place and Show) wagers will be offered, along with Quinella (first two finishers in any order), Omni-Swinger (two of the first three finishers in any order), Exacta (first two finishers in exact order) and Trifecta (first three finishers in exact order) wagers. Win and Place wagers have a $2 minimum; all other wagers have a $1 minimum. For the first time, North American bettors will be able to bet directly into Pari Mutuel Urbain (PMU) pools. PMU wagering rules will apply.

 

On Saturday, customers will be able to wager via NYRA Rewards internet and Telebet beginning at 8:15 a.m. on races 5, 6 and 8 from Longchamp. Post time for race 5, the Group 2 Qatar Prix de Royallieu, is 8:30 a.m. EDT. All four races, including race 7, a non-wagering Arabian event, will be live streamed online for NYRA Rewards customers and broadcast on the NYRA Network, Channel 71 on Time Warner's basic cable system. No on-track wagering at Belmont or Aqueduct is available on Saturday.

 

On Sunday, Arc day, wagering will be available via NYRA Rewards internet and Telebet beginning at 7:30 a.m. as well as at Aqueduct and the Belmont Café, which open at 8:45 a.m. The following races will be available for wagering through NYRA, with races 2 and 3 available only via NYRA Rewards internet and Telebet wagering. Races 4, 5, 6, 8 and 9 will be available on track at Aqueduct and Belmont Park:

Races 2-6 will be shown on track and on the NYRA Network; all races will be live streamed online for NYRA Rewards customers. Past performances for races 4, 5, 6, 8 and 9 will be published in Sunday's Post Parade program.

 

Saturday's live racing card at Belmont Park features three Grade 1 events: The $400,000 Jamaica Handicap for 3-year-olds at 1 1/8 miles on the turf, the Foxwoods Champagne for 2-year-olds, and the Frizette for 2-year-old fillies. Both Saturday juvenile events are worth $400,000 and will be run at one mile on the main track.
