DOMINGUEZ WINS
TRAINERS BROWN, JACOBSON TIE
ELMONT, N.Y. – Two-time Eclipse Award-winning jockey Ramon Dominguez continued his domination of The New York Racing Association, Inc. (NYRA) circuit as he added the 2012 Belmont Park fall meet to his ever-growing list of riding titles.
Dominguez, 35, rode 56 winners during the 37-day meet, which concluded on Sunday, and has now won 19 individual titles on the circuit beginning with the 2007-08 inner track meet at Aqueduct Racetrack.
Javier Castellano was second with 39 winners, while Joel Rosario finished third having brought home 30 winners.
By taking Sunday's fifth race with Corporate Culture ($3.70), Chad Brown moved into a tie with David Jacobson as the meet's leading trainer, with each having saddled 21 winners. It was the second individual NYRA title for Brown, 33, who won the 2010 Aqueduct fall meet, while Jacobson topped the standings for last year's
Michael Dubb was the leading owner with 12 winners.
Thoroughbred action moves to Aqueduct Racetrack beginning Friday, November 2. With the two-day simulcast for the Breeders' Cup from Santa Anita Park, first race post time at the Big A is 12:30 p.m. on Friday and 12:15 p.m. on Saturday.
