NOSE PHOTO TO LIL R’SLAST, TURNING TABLES ON STAGHORN

OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma-breds were featured in a $36,800 allowance event Friday night at Remington Park, going 6-1/2 furlongs over a sloppy main track. Lil R’slast battled throughout the stretch with Staghorn, prevailing in the final strides to just get his nose up for victory.

The result for Lil R’slast put the finish in his favor over Staghorn this time out. On Aug. 11, Staghorn finished second in a similar event for Oklahoma-breds with Lil R’slast behind him in third. Tonight, the pair hooked up off the turn and went nose-to-nose through the length of the stretch. They were 1-1/2 lengths ahead of Slew Luna who was along for third.

Lil R’slast crossed the finish in 1:19.30. Owned by Rosalee Lotspeich of Rosston, Okla. and trained by Wilson Brown, Lil R’slast was ridden to victory by David Cardoso.

Away at 5-1 odds, Lil R’slast paid $12.60 to win, $6 to place and $4 to show. Staghorn paid $5.60 to place and $4 to show. Slew Luna returned $10.80 to show. My Debit Card was the beaten 2-1 wagering favorite, finishing ninth and last after competing for the front briefly at the start of the race.

A 3-year-old gelding by Seeking Greatness from the Kyle’s Our Man mare Kyle’s Carrie, Lil R’slast earned $21,145 for the score to move his career bankroll to $43,823. He has now won two of six career starts while finishing third in three other events.
