Broadcasts to be aired nationwide on Sirius satellite radio

 

 

Horse Racing Radio Network (HRRN), the Eclipse Award-winning broadcast organization based in Lexington, KY, announced Friday that they will return to Saratoga Race Course to provide exclusive on-site coverage of Saturday’s Grade 1 Whitney Handicap as well as the Fasig-Tipton Selected Yearling Sale on Monday, August 6 and Tuesday, August 7 as well as the National Museum of Racing Hall of Fame inductions on Friday, August 10. 

 

HRRN’s coverage begins Saturday morning with a special Whitney Handicap edition of their popular weekly talk show, the Equine Forum, from 8-10 AM ET, followed by live coverage of the Whitney Handicap from 5-6 PM ET.  The Whitney is part of HRRN’s Breeders’ Cup Challenge Broadcast Series, presented by Breeders’ Cup, and a “Win and You’re In” for the $5 million Breeders’ Cup Classic.  The broadcast will be aired nationwide on Sirius satellite radio channel 92.

 

HRRN then shifts venues across Union Avenue to the Fasig-Tipton Sales Pavilion for live coverage of the Selected Yearling Sale on Monday and Tuesday evening’s beginning at 6:30 ET.  For the first time in history, the sales broadcasts will be aired nationally on Sirius channel 92.

 

The network’s coverage wraps up Friday, August 10 with a 3-hour broadcast of the National Museum of Racing Hall of Fame inductions from 10AM – 1 PM ET.  The broadcast, presented by Adena Springs, can be heard live on the HRRN website, www.horseracingradio.net, and will be aired on taped-delay on Sirius satellite radio.

 

In addition to Sirius and select HRRN affiliates, all shows can be heard via live streaming on HRRN’s site.

 

HRRN President Mike Penna will anchor the coverage along with analysts Jude Feld and Sean Clancy.
