SUFFOLK DOWNS CANCELS TUESDAY’S CARD DUE

TO EXTREME HEAT AND HUMIDITY

Suffolk Downs officials have canceled the live racing program scheduled for Tuesday, July 17 due to a forecast that calls for extreme heat and humidity.

“The health and safety of our athletes are always of foremost concern,” said Suffolk Downs Chief Operating Officer Chip Tuttle.  “After consulting with our veterinarians, horsemen and jockeys, it was clear that canceling Tuesday’s card was the prudent course of action.”

The track will also be closed for simulcasting on Tuesday.  Live racing and simulcasting are scheduled to resume on Wednesday.  First post time is 12:45 p.m.
