MEDIA ADVISORY: BELMONT STAKES WEEK EVENTS
Please find below the list of scheduled media events for Belmont Stakes week. These are the events that have been arranged by The New York Racing Association, Inc. (NYRA) or that NYRA is involved with in some capacity.
- Complimentary Continental Breakfasts in the Belmont Café for Credentialed Media: Monday, June 4 – Friday, June 8, from 7 – 9:30 a.m.
- Empire State Building Photo Opportunity with jockey Mario Gutierrez and Sam the Bugler: Tuesday, June 5 at 10:00 a.m., located at 350 Fifth Avenue between 33rd and 34th Streets
- Belmont Stakes Media Luncheon at the 620 Loft & Garden at Rockefeller Center, featuring a press conference with select connections participating in the Belmont Stakes: Tuesday, June 5, from noon – 2:30 p.m., 620 5th Avenue (enter on 50th Street between Coach and Cole Haan) and take the elevators to the 7th floor. For subway access take the B, D, F, or M train to the 47 – 50 Street/Rockefeller Center stop. Transportation will be provided to credentialed media, first-come, first-served, leaving from the Belmont Park clubhouse entrance at 10:55 a.m.
- Belmont Stakes Post Position Draw at Belmont Park’s Garden Terrace: Wednesday, June 6, Breakfast at 9:30 a.m. and Post Position Draw at 11 a.m. The draw will be broadcast on MSG+ and live streamed on www.BelmontStakes.com
- Belmont Stakes Press Conference in the Belmont Park Film Theater: Thursday, June 7 at noon, featuring trainer Doug O’Neill, jockey Mario Gutierrez, and possibly additional connections of Belmont Stakes contenders. The press conference will be live streamed on www.BelmontStakes.com
- Ronald McDonald House of Long Island Jockey Visit:
Thursday, June 7 at 10 a.m., more than a half-dozen jockeys will travel to the Ronald McDonald House in New Hyde Park to visit with children and their families. For more information about RMH-LI, go to www.rmhlongisland.org
- Belmont Stakes Charity Celebration at the Rubin Museum of Art in NYC: Thursday, June 7 from 7 – 10 p.m., benefiting the Grayson-Jockey Club Research Foundation and B.E.S.T. (Backstretch Employee Service Team). For more information contact Nancy Kelly (212) 521-5305.
- Belmont Stakes Press Party at the Garden City Hotel: Friday, June 8 from 6:30 – 9:30 p.m.
- Post Belmont Stakes Press Conference in the Belmont Park Film Theater: Saturday, June 9, approximately 7 – 8 p.m., following the Belmont Stakes. The press conference will be live streamed on www.BelmontStakes.com
