FLORAL PARK HOLDS 11th  ANNUAL BELMONT STAKES FESTIVAL

FLORAL PARK, N.Y. – The 11th Annual Floral Park Belmont Stakes Festival, sponsored by The New York Racing Association, Inc. (NYRA), the Floral Park Chamber of Commerce, and The Incorporated Village of Floral Park, will be held on Sunday, June 10 from 2 to 7 p.m.  The festival, celebrating the 144th running of the Belmont Stakes at Belmont Park, takes place on Tulip Avenue from Plainfield Avenue to Verbena Avenue and Vernon Street.

Racing fans can look forward to meeting Eclipse Award-winning jockey Ramon Dominguez; NYRA track announcer Tom Durkin; and NYRA TV analyst Jason Blewitt -- each of whom is a resident of Floral Park.

Festival-goers can enjoy live music performed by Mike Barry Music, Butchers Blind, Rake, The Dogs, and Pete's One Man Band. Radio station KJOY 98.3 will be on location.  There will be young performers from Can Dee Music, as well as dance performances by Dancin’ Queens and Center Stage along with street performers.

Other family-friendly activities include face painters, inflatable rides, and plenty of delicious food, cold beverages, and much more.

The Floral Park Art League will also be hosting its annual Art Show and Raffle in Memorial Park, including original oil paintings, pen and ink sketches, and watercolors. Many local merchants and community organizations will be participating, lining the streets with offerings throughout the afternoon and early evening along with exciting raffles.

For more information about the Floral Park Belmont Festival or to participate in any of its events contact Cathy Grassman at 516-488-2705.

The Floral Park Festival will take place as I’ll Have Another tries to become thoroughbred racing’s 12th Triple Crown winner by capturing the Grade 1, $1 million Belmont Stakes at Belmont Park on Saturday, June 9.
