Starlight Racing Names Donna Barton Brothers

Chief Operating Officer

 

April 26, 2012 – Louisville, KY – Starlight Racing has named Donna Barton Brothers Chief Operating Officer it was announced today.

 

Barton Brothers, based out of Louisville, KY will work closely with managing partners Jack Wolf and Donnie Lucarelli, the existing partners and the newly formed partnership of 2012 in racing operations, marketing and business development. 

"We are thrilled to have Donna join our team," said Wolf. "I've known Donna for years and respect her immense knowledge in all aspects of the racing industry. Donna's husband Frank has been our Bloodstock agent for years and is a big part of our success. I feel fortunate to have one of the best teams in racing."

Barton Brothers, a former jockey has been a racing analyst for ESPN, TVG and NBC Sports since retiring from race riding in 1998. As one of the most respected racing analysts in the industry she will continue to work with NBC Sports and TVG while working with Starlight Racing.

After a brilliant five length win in the Glll $400,000 Holy Bull Starlight Racing's Algorithms earned a 105 Beyer Speed Figure, making him one of the early favorites for this year's Kentucky Derby. The undefeated colt was sidelined due to a minor injury and is expected to return to the track in late summer or early fall this year.

Starlight Racing has campaigned numerous stakes winners, including two-time Eclipse Champion Ashado who sold for a record $9,000,000. One of their top earners last year was the talented filly Hilda's Passion who won four graded stakes races, including the Gl Ballerina by 9 ¼ lengths. She was a finalist for the 2012 Eclipse Award in the Filly and Mare Sprint division and was sold at the Keeneland November sale for $1,225,000

Over the last 12 years Starlight Racing has won 50 stakes races, including 17 Gl's, 13, Gll's and 8 Glll's. In the money over 5O% they've earned close to $17,000.000 in purses.
