AQUEDUCT TO OFFER $113K TWO-DAY PICK 6 CARRYOVER ON SUNDAY; VELASQUEZ STABLE AFTER SPILL IN SATURDAY NIGHTCAP, TAKEN TO HOSPITAL COMPLAINING OF NECK AND BACK PAIN

OZONE PARK, N.Y. – Aqueduct Racetrack will present a Pick 6 with a $113,726 carryover on Sunday as the wager evaded bettors for the second straight day on Saturday.

Sunday’s Pick 6 will begin with race 4, which has a scheduled post time of 1:45 p.m. The wager’s penultimate leg is the Sunday feature, the $75,000 Hildy’s Grey for New York-bred fillies and mares. Six betting interests have been entered in the one-mile, 70-yard race, headed by 9-5 morning-line favorite Opus A, who in her most recent start earned her second career stakes victory.

The other five legs attracted at least eight entrants, with four having drawn 10 runners before scratches.

Those who wish to play the Pick 6 can place their bets at Aqueduct Racetrack or the Belmont Café, or through NYRA Rewards, which offers Internet, On-Track, Phone, and Mobile wagering.

Jockey Cornelio Velasquez was in stable condition Saturday evening as he was taken to North Shore University Hospital complaining of neck and back pain after being unseated in the day’s final race.

In the Saturday 10th race, Velasquez’s mount, Coronado Heights, broke down and fell along the backstretch. Lime Zest struck his fallen opponent, dislodging jockey Ryan Curatolo, who was cleared by NYRA’s first aid.
