FICK TO LEAD REMINGTON PARK RACING
OKLAHOMA CITY – Remington Park president and general manager Scott Wells announced Tuesday that the racetrack and casino has reached an agreement with Dan Fick to serve as Director of Racing, beginning Jan. 1, 2011.
Most recently working as a state steward in Indiana, Fick served as Executive Director of Racing for the American Quarter Horse Association for 19 years. In 2003 he was hired to be the Executive Director and Vice President of The Jockey Club, a position he held through 2009. He is the only person to have held such positions in the world’s two largest breed associations. In addition to his current duties as a steward, Fick also serves as an examiner for the National Thoroughbred Racing Association’s Safety and Integrity Alliance.
“Dan’s leadership abilities and his unmatched experience across all phases of the racing industry make him a perfect fit for Remington Park,” Wells said. “He’s one of the most respected men in the business and for good reason.”
Live racing returns to Remington Park on March 4, 2011 when the nation’s top American Quarter Horse season gets underway. Remington Park remains open daily until then for casino gaming and simulcast racing.
Remington Park is Oklahoma City’s only Racetrack & Casino, located at the junction of Interstates 35 & 44, in the heart of the Oklahoma City Adventure District. For more information, reservations and group bookings please call 405-424-1000, 866-456-9880 or visit remingtonpark.com.
