Mike Hushion, winning trainer of Nicole H (No. 2): “Her last race [seventh in the November 6 Dream Supreme] was a throw-out. We don’t know what happened there – it might fall under the ‘Some Horses Just Don’t Like Churchill Downs’ category. Today, around the turn, it looked just like the allowance race she won by 10 ¾ lengths. She was a little keener today in the early going. We’re not sure what we are going to do – we just wanted to get back here and find out if we had the same Nicole H. And we did.”
Ramon Dominguez, winning jockey aboard Nicole H (No. 2): “We wanted to get her into the clear because we’re still trying to figure out what went wrong in her last race. We think she’s a nice filly, and one of the things we had in mind was how she was down on the inside at Churchill the whole time, so maybe she wasn’t too crazy about being down there. I made it my mission to get her to the outside as soon as possible. When I did so, she’s so sharp she got a little rank with me. It’s been a great day, and winning with a filly like her makes it even better.”
