Texas-bred Gelding Likely to Become Richest Quarter Horse Ever in Friday’s Feature

Post Positions for All Six Bank of America Challenge Championships Drawn Tuesday

NEW ORLEANS (Tuesday, November 16, 2010) – Stolis Winner, the 4-year-old Texas-bred gelding likely to become the richest Quarter Horse in history with his next start, drew post position No. 3 and was installed as the 5-2 morning line favorite for Friday night’s Grade I Bank of America Challenge Championship. Set to go as Race 12 of a 13-race all-stakes program, the 440-yard heat for older horses is the centerpiece of the Challenge Championships, hosted for the first time this year at Fair Grounds Race Course & Slots.

The Friday night program will feature 13 stakes races in all, with purses worth more than $1.1 million. First post is 5 p.m. CST. All 13 races will be shown live nationally on HRTV, which will broadcast from the Fair Grounds paddock with hosts Gary Stevens and Jon White.

The Challenge Championships also mark the return of Starlight Racing, the upscale night racing experience with live music, DJs and drink specials. Headlining Friday’s entertainment is country rock band Christian Serpas & Ghost Town, scheduled to hit the Clubhouse bandstand at 6 p.m.

Stolis Winner will become the all-time leading earner amongst Quarter Horses with a seventh-place finish or better in Friday’s Grade I, $350,000 Bank of America Challenge Championship, set for 9:46 p.m. CST. He’ll face a deep field of top older horses from throughout the Quarter Horse world.
