Tom Proctor, winning trainer of You Go West Girl (No. 1): “We’ve kept her pretty much in the New York-bred program all year, with the exception of a race or two. We were hoping she’d give a good account of herself, and if she did, we knew she’d be right there. I was a little nervous with 70 yards left!”
Jose Lezcano, winning jockey aboard You Go West Girl (No. 1): “She’s a very nice filly. She got a good trip today, there was a lot of speed in the race so I sat in the back and made my move. She came running. I think she was best filly in that spot.”
