STEPHENGOTHISSTAR CONTINUES TO CLIMB CLAIMING RANKS & CONTINUES WINNING STREAK
 
OKLAHOMA CITY – The win streak for Stephengothisstar continued Saturday night at Remington Park as the 5-year-old gelding won his third straight of this season. He has compiled the run while stepping up in competition each race, with completely different connections in each race.
 
Stephengothisstar won an optional allowance race for 3-year-olds and older in race six on Saturday. He was entered into the event for the $35,000 claiming price, meaning he could be purchased by an eligible horsemen from the race for that tag. He was not claimed, winning for Elk City, Okla. owners Black Hawk Stable, trainer Kenny Nolen and jockey Cliff Berry.
 
Black Hawk Stable and Nolen claimed Stephengothisstar for $20,000 on Oct. 14. He was claimed out of the first race in his win streak for $15,000 on Sep. 6.
 
Through the three-race streak, Stephengothisstar has had three different owners, trainers and jockeys. Despite the changes, he continues to win.
 
Saturday, Stephengothisstar prevailed by 2-3/4 lengths in a six-furlong sprint, moving for victory from just off the pace as the eight-horse field left the lone turn for home. Steal the Sticks had the lead for the first half-mile while setting a quarter-mile fraction of :21.76 then a half-mile fraction of :44.54.
 
Stephengothisstar made the lead at the top of the stretch and held Bizet at bay throughout the run to the finish while Steal the Sticks maintained third, another length behind the runner-up.
 
Stephengothisstar crossed the finish in 1:09.33 over a fast track.
 
The wagering favorite at 3-2 odds, Stephengothisstar paid $5 to win, $2.80 to place and $2.60 to show. Bizet returned $5 to place and $4.40 to show. Steal the Sticks paid $6.40 to show.
 
A Kentucky-bred son of Stephen Got Even from the Prospective Star mare Airistar, Stephengothisstar won his eighth career race from 29 attempts while posting his sixth victory at Remington Park. The winner’s share of $17,565 now gives Stephengothisstar $130,709 for his racing career.
 
Bella Diamante, a starter in this year’s Grade 1, $500,000 Kentucky Oaks at Churchill Downs in Louisville, returned from her six-month layoff in an optional allowance event at Remington Park. She was last in the Oaks on the final day of April, 24-1/2 lengths behind top 3-year-old filly Blind Luck. Saturday night in Oklahoma City, Bella Diamante returned in a six-furlong sprint, running fourth, 1-3/4 lengths behind the winner, Halo’s Reflection.
 
Bella Diamante broke her maiden status in her career debut in October 2009 at Remington Park.
 
Remington Park’s Thoroughbred Season moves into November with racing Wednesday thru Saturday, Nov. 3-6. Racing begins at 6:30pm on Wednesday and Thursday. 
 
The simulcast of the Breeders’ Cup World Championships will be offered at Remington Park on Friday, Nov. 5 and Saturday, Nov. 6. Remington Park live racing begins earlier than normal on both days, complimenting the top simulcast cards of the year.
 
Breeders’ Cup stakes racing begins at 3:10pm on Friday, Nov. 5 with the first Remington Park race at 4:45pm. On Saturday, Nov. 6, Remington Park will start the live card at Noon with the first Breeders’ Cup stakes race at 12:50pm. All times are central.
