FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE December 12, 2014 Contact: Najja Thompson nthompson@nyrainc.com (718) 659 - 2244 New York-bred juveniles take center stage in Damon Runyon & East View OZONE PARK, N.Y. - New York-bred juveniles take center stage on Sunday's card at Aqueduct Racetrack in a pair of stakes at a distance of one mile, 70 yards - the $100,000 Damon Runyon and $100,000 East View for fillies. The Damon Runyon is headed by the undefeated Regal Minister. Trained by Mark Hennig for DATTT Stable, Regal Minister is 2-for-2 on the year and enters the Damon Runyon having won both of his starts by a combined 4 ¼ lengths. A son of Posse, Regal Minister broke his maiden in a 6 ½-furlong New York-bred maiden race at Belmont Park, returning $22.90 on a $2 wager. The chestnut colt then followed up on his long-shot debut victory by winning his first stakes start in the Notebook at Aqueduct to remain unbeaten. "I was surprised he paid that much in his debut," said Hennig. "He's done everything right on the racetrack so far. He's doing real well and we'll see how he does stretching out around two turns." Regal Minister is listed as the 5-2 morning-line favorite, and will break from post 2 with Manual Franco aboard. Trainer Kelly Breen will enter another son of Posse when he sends out Possilicious. The bay colt is making his stakes debut off a front-running, 3 ½-length victory at Aqueduct in a New York-bred maiden race. C.C. Lopez has the mount on Possilicious 12-1 on the morning line, from post 6. Rounding out the field in post-position order are Masons Dream, Saint Joseph, Tizquick, J C's Not Brown, Che La Luna, Thrown of My Own, Bullheaded Boy, Fleeting, Navy Blue, and Good Luck Gus. In the East View, trainer George Weaver will enter My Super Nova, owned by R. A. Hill Stable. With one win in four starts this year, My Super Nova has encountered some difficult trips in her previous races, including her most recent start, when she stumbled badly out of the gate and finished fifth in the Key Cents at Aqueduct. The Super Saver filly broke her maiden in the slop at Belmont Park facing New York-breds, and has been the post-time favorite in three out of her four career starts. "She's doing well; she's a talented filly with a lot of ability," said Weaver. "She caught a bad break in her last race, which cost her that day, but going forward she's ready to go." In her last workout in preparation for the East View, My Super Nova completed a four-furlong breeze in 48.55 seconds on December 7 at the Belmont Park training track - the fastest work at the distance. Angel Arroyo will be in the irons for My Super Nova, the 2-1 morning-line favorite, from post 3. Freudie Anne, for owner Marc Detampel and trainer Eddie Kenneally, enters the East View off an optional-claiming win at Aqueduct. The daughter of Freud is 2-for-3 on the year. Freudie Anne will be ridden by Jose Ortiz and is 3-1 on the morning line. Rounding out of the field in post-position order are Classic Aussie, Hot City Girl, Sweetpollypurebrd, and Building Permit.
