STREAK MOVES TO THREE STRAIGHT FOR KATRINA NICOLE

OKLAHOMA CITY – Katrina Nicole is definitely on top of her game right now at Remington Park. Thursday night, she posted her third consecutive allowance win of the season over the turf, with all three at different distances.

Owned by the Flying V Ranch of Prague, Okla. and trained by Bret Calhoun, Katrina Nicole was ridden by regular pilot Cliff Berry. The 5-year-old Oklahoma-bred mare handled an open company allowance worth $37,819 for older fillies and mares going 1-1/16 miles. Allowed to settle off the rail for clean sailing, Katrina Nicole moved four-wide into the stretch. She drove to the front with just under a furlong to go then pulled clear by 2-1/4 lengths. The widening margin helped Katrina Nicole avoid a late charge by a wall of four runners involved in a photo-finish for second, third and fourth place.

Katrina Nicole handled the firm course in 1:44.12 and was 4-1 in the wagering, paying $10.80 to win, $4.80 to place and $3 to show. Bringinginthelute was the beaten 4-5 wagering favorite, she won the place photo to pay $3 to place and $2.20 to show. Channel Eleven was third and returned $3.40 to show.

The fourth career victory from eight attempts was worth $22,658 to Katrina Nicole. A daughter of Wando from the Whitesburg mare Lucky Lady Laura, Katrina Nicole has now made $90,394.

Katrina Nicole has won at one mile, 7-1/2 furlongs and now 1-1/16 miles this season over the Remington Park turf course.

Jockey Ramon Vazquez, the leader in the rider standings at Remington Park, posted three more wins Thursday. He won aboard Big Money Speaks ($6.60 to win) in the first race, Dr. Spin ($5.40) in race three and Catswaggin ($7.40) in race four. Vazquez now has 73 wins for the season, 19 better than Berry who is second with 54.

Remington Park Thoroughbred racing continues Friday and Saturday, Nov. 14-15, with the first race nightly at 7pm.

Remington Park is open daily at 10:30am for simulcast racing and casino gaming, featuring the Bricktown Brewery on the casino floor. Admission, general parking and valet parking are always free at Remington Park, the home of the $250,000 Springboard Mile on Sunday, Dec. 14.
