PERFECT FIT WINS SECOND STRAIGHT, BERRY RIDES FOUR WINNERS

OKLAHOMA CITY – Well within herself at the end of six furlongs, Perfect Fit posted her second consecutive victory at Remington Park on Wednesday in a $30,000 allowance/optional claiming race for 2-year-old fillies. She opened a clear lead in the stretch and had plenty left when crossing the finish line.

Owned by Majestic Racing Partners of Dallas and trained by Bret Calhoun, Perfect Fit was one of four winners on the night for jockey Cliff Berry. Perfect Fit drew away from Bling It On Baby in the stretch to win by two lengths while Batten Down Belle was a distant third, 6-3/4 lengths behind the runner-up. Perfect Fit handled six panels in 1:12.60 over a fast track.

Away at 3-1 odds, Perfect Fit paid $8 to win, $3.20 to place and $3 to show. Bling It On Baby paid $2.60 to place and $2.40 to show. Batten Down Belle paid $4.80 to show.

The win followed an impressive maiden-breaking performance in October by Perfect Fit, a Florida-bred filly by Majesticperfection from the Real Quiet mare Choose The Right. She has won two of her three career starts and made $17,847 for the Wednesday night score to run her lifetime earnings to $34,375.

Berry’s other winners that gave him a riding quadruple on the night included: Stormtoremember ($3.80 to win) in race four; Tensaw ($6.20) in race six and Sockie Bomb ($4.80) in the ninth and final race on the program. The four win-night moves Berry to 59 victories for the season, second in the standings behind Ramon Vazquez who has 79.

Remington Park Thoroughbred racing continues Thursday thru Saturday, Nov. 20-22, with the first race nightly at 7pm. The $50,000 Silver Goblin Stakes for Oklahoma-breds is the feature race of the week on Friday night, at 6-1/2 furlongs.
