MORE THAN EVEN GAINS THIRD WIN OF REMINGTON PARK SEASON

OKLAHOMA CITY – A second-place finish in the Oklahoma Classics Distaff Sprint in October was the only non-winning attempt of the Remington Park season by More Than Even. Thursday night, the 4-year-old filly rebounded to find the winner’s circle for the third time this season.

Owned and bred in Oklahoma by Doyle Williams of Tulsa, More Than Even launched from the starting gate to lead every step of the one-mile event. The allowance/optional claiming race carried a purse of $39,812 for older fillies and mares.

Trained by Roger Engel, More Than Even was handled by Cliff Berry who has been up for all three of her wins this season. In the stretch, she opened up a lead but had to hold on in the final strides to win by a neck over a rallying Diva’s Diamond. Molly’s Honour was another three lengths behind the runner-up for third. More Than Even crossed the finish in 1:37.08 over a fast track.

The 8-5 wagering favorite, More Than Even paid $5.20 to win, $2.80 to place and $2.60 to show. Diva’s Diamond paid $3.20 to place and $2.80 to show. Molly’s Honour paid $4.20 to show.

The win was the 11th for More Than Even from 26 career attempts. She picked up another $25,761 to boost her lifetime earnings to $343,768. A 4-year-old filly, More Than Even is by Stephen Got Even from the Dehere mare Sallybrooke.
