Watch and wager on the Breeders' Cup on opening weekend at The Big A

 

ELMONT, N.Y. - New York racing fans can watch and wager on all the Breeders' Cup action from Santa Anita Park this weekend, along with exciting live racing on Friday and Saturday, at newly revamped Aqueduct Racetrack.

 

First race post time at The Big A is set for 1 p.m.  Admission gates will open at 11 a.m. on both days.

 

The New York Racing Association will offer advance wagering Friday on Saturday's Breeders' Cup card, as well as wagering on the Distaff/Classic Double, which will close at post time of the Distaff on Friday evening at approximately 7:35 p.m. ET.

 

Advance wagering on Saturday's card will be available on-track and through NYRA Rewards on all platforms. Breeders' Cup wager amounts will be offered at Aqueduct, including 50 cent minimums on trifectas, Pick 3's, Pick 4's, Pick 5's and Super Hi 5's on all platforms, including all teller windows.

 

Kicking off Friday's four Breeders' Cup races at Santa Anita will be the running of the $1 million Juvenile Turf at 5:25 p.m. ET. The $2 million Longines Distaff is scheduled to run at 7:35 p.m. ET.

 

On Saturday, the first Breeders' Cup race at Santa Anita is the $2 million 14 Hands Winery Juvenile Fillies, with a post time of approximately 3:05 p.m. The $5 million Classic is scheduled to run at approximately 8:35 p.m.

 

To offer additional convenience to Aqueduct horseplayers, the New York Racing Association will be opening expanded simulcasting areas on Friday, with designated windows remaining open until the conclusion of Breeders' Cup racing that night.  Additionally, all Aqueduct mutuel windows will remain open until after the running of the Breeders' Cup Classic on Saturday evening.

 

Adding to the excitement, on Friday, the Juvenile Turf (5:25 p.m.), the Dirt Mile (6:05 p.m.), the Juvenile Turf Fillies (6:50 p.m.) and the Distaff (7:35 p.m.) will be shown live on all five of Aqueduct's new, high-definitions infield totate boards. On Saturday, the HD infield tote boards will show the Turf (6:22 p.m.), the Sprint (7:01 p.m.), the Mile (7:40 p.m.)  and the Classic (8:35 p.m.).

 

NYRA Rewards members can obtain a handicapping carrel in Aqueduct's state-of-the-art simulcasting center, Longshots, for $20 for both Friday and Saturday. The carrels will be available to non-members for $40 for both days.

 

Reservations for the $30 buffet lunch at Equestris on either or both days can be made bycalling 1-888-516-NYRA. Equestris will remain open late on both days.

 

This weekend's simulcasting will complement Aqueduct's scheduled nine-race live card on Friday, as well as on Saturday when Aqueduct's graded stakes program kicks off with the Grade 3, $200,000 Discovery Handicap for 3-year-olds.
