FLOSY HAS ATTITUDE RALLIES FROM LAST TO WIN ON NIGHT OF LONGSHOTS AT REMINGTON PARK

OKLAHOMA CITY – There was no full moon over Remington Park on Friday night, a half-moon at best, but that didn’t prevent the night belonging to howling longshots with many running their best race of the year. That label did not fit Flosy Has Attitude who rallied for a second-place run in her season opener in early September, followed by victory Friday night.

Owned by Kim and Greg Boarman of Bismarck, Ark. and trained by Greg, Flosy Has Attitude improved off her first start of the season to find the winner’s circle under Chya Johnstone. Overlooked in the $30,000 allowance for older fillies and mares at 1 mile-70 yards, the 4-year-old filly was last after a half-mile but was given a ground-saving ride by Johnstone to put her in contention once they reached the stretch.

Flosy Has Attitude was last in the field of nine, over 10 lengths from the early leader Avis E. before beginning her progress along the rail in the final turn. At the top of the stretch, Johnstone angled her mount to the middle of the stretch in order to get outside of rivals for her winning move. Full of run in the final furlong, Flosy Has Attitude won by 1-3/4 lengths over Divine Way with Marlene’s Love finishing third another nose back.

Ignored in the wagering at 10-1 odds, Flosy Has Attitude crossed the finish in 1:42.69 over a fast track and paid $22.60 to win, $8.40 to place and $6.60 to show. Divine Way returned $11 to place and $6.40 to show. Marlene’s Love paid $7 to show. Battle Tale was the beaten 3-1 wagering favorite, finishing fifth.

The win was the second from 20 career starts for Flosy Has Attitude, a Kentucky-bred filly by Eddington from the Aptitude mare She Has Aptitude. Her first Remington Park triumph was worth $17,796 to run her overall earnings to $60,337.

There were nine races at Remington Park on Friday night, won by nine different jockeys and nine different trainers. Of the nine events, five of them were won by horses paying more than $10 for the $2 win bet, including: Susan Joy ($89.40 to win) in race one; Almost A Lady ($11.60) in race three; Mr. Megatron ($12.40) in race six; I Tour ($87) in race seven; Flosy Has Attitude ($22.60) in race eight and Overspent ($48) in the race nine.

Remington Park racing continues Saturday night with a nine-race program underway at 7pm.
