The New York Racing Association to honor Tom Durkin following final call at Saratoga Race Course
WHAT: The New York Racing Association, Inc. will celebrate the illustrious career of longtime track announcer Tom Durkin with a day in his honor at Saratoga Race Course.
WHEN: Sunday, August 31

Winner's Circle Presentation Following Spinaway (Approx. 6 p.m.)

DETAILS: The celebration will begin with a pair of proclamations from U.S. Congressman Paul D. Tonko and Saratoga Springs Mayor Joanne Yepsen in honor of Tom Durkin. The proclamations will be made from the winner's circle prior to the start of racing on Sunday.
The highlight of the afternoon will be a special winner's circle ceremony following Durkin's final race call at Saratoga in the Grade 1 Spinaway.
The call will bring Durkin's 43-year career to a close. Fans are encouraged to remain in their seats after the Spinaway to witness the ceremony.
