MEDIA ADVISORY: Media procedures for Whitney Day

Please be reminded that the following procedures, which have been in place at Saratoga Race Couse since July 21, will be strictly enforced on Whitney Day, Saturday, August 2.

  • All media (print, radio, TV, photo) must wear their credentials visibly displayed on their outer clothing in order to gain admittance to the winner's circle, paddock or onto the track. Credentials must remain visibly displayed. Those without credentials will be asked to leave the area.
  • Throughout the day, proper dress and decorum must be observed by members of the media in the paddock, winner's circle, box seat and dining areas. (Collared shirts, no shorts, etc.)
  • Media wishing to interview the winning connections following the stakes races must remain behind the rope to the side of the winner's circle until the trophy presentation is over and the rope is removed. Once the rope is removed by security, please allow any NBC television interviews to be completed before proceeding.
  •  Photographers must remain on the track along the rail to the side of the entrance to the winner's circle. Photographers are not allowed to go beyond that point onto the middle of the track until the horses are led away. No one is allowed to step in front of winning horse and connections as they proceed into the winner's circle. Photographers will be allowed into the winner's circle when the NYRA official photographer has finished.
  •  Media must follow the directives and instructions of NYRA security personnel at all times.

NYRA has and will continue to reserve the right to revoke the credentials of any member of the media who repeatedly fails to follow these procedures.
