WORK ALL WEEK TO SHOULDER THE LOAD IN CAMMACK

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. (July 23, 2014) – Saddled with a 130-pound impost for Saturday's $100,000 Addison Cammack Handicap at Arlington International Racecourse, Midwest Thoroughbreds' Work All Week will attempt to show why he was named champion Illinois sprinter as well as the state's Horse of the Year when he heads a field of nine entered in the six-furlong dash for Prairie Staters.

For the record, the last horse to carry 130 pounds in an Arlington stakes race was Cigar in 1996, when he descended upon Chicago to extend his win-streak to 16 with a victory in the Arlington-Citation Challenge.

While certainly not in the same class as that two-time Horse of the Year, Work All Week has been the class leader amongst state-bred sprinters as well as more than holding his own in open company.  A winner in 10 of his 12 trips to the post, the 5-year-old City Zip gelding is three-for-three this year with the triad of victories all in open company.  Last time out, the Roger Brueggemann trainee extended his overall skein to seven when wiring his rivals for a half-length victory in the Listed $125,000 Iowa Sprint Handicap at Prairie Meadows.

The last time Work All Week tasted defeat was when nipped at the wire by Ed Fortino's Sweet Luca in last year's edition of this race.  Chris Emigh will ride the highweight who will spot his rivals from 11 to 18 pounds – a spread seldom seen in today's sport.

Defending champion Sweet Luca returns to try to again trump the division leader for trainer Chris Block.  Winless since last year's Cammack, the son of Candy Ride comes in off a fourth-place finish in the $100,000 Black Tie Affair Handicap last month and benefits from a change in schedule that allows him to run in both races, which were contested the same day in 2013.  C. H. Marquez Jr. is named aboard the 5-year-gelding who will carry 119 pounds Saturday.

Also in at a 119-pound impost is S. D. Brilie Ltd. Partnership's Big Looie, who was third in this race in 2011 when it was known as the White Oak Handicap.  The 7-year-old Military gelding beat state-bred rivals when annexing Hawthorne's $100,000 Milwaukee Avenue Handicap in April.  Though most of his recent races have been over a route of ground, the Christine Janks trainee is adept in sprints with three wins from 10 starts at six furlongs.  Channing Hill has the mount.

Hill 'n' Dale Farm's Sir Applesolutely is another from the Chris Block barn returning to face state-breds after running fourth in a tough open allowance race last time out. Before that he finished seventh, though beaten only 4½ lengths in the Grade III Hanshin Cup.  Earlier this year, the son of Henny Hughes beat open rivals over Keeneland's Polytrack in April.  Florent Geroux gets a return call aboard the 5-year-old gelding.

Though winless over the last two seasons, Terry Young and Sue Crooks' Four Left Feet is always around the money.  The 6-year-old Trippi gelding, who will carry 118 pounds in the Cammack, is five for six in the money this year - mostly in open company.  Rosemary Homeister Jr. rides for trainer Terry Young.

Keith and Justin Johns' Massive Explosion makes his first start in restricted company in nearly a year.  The 4-year-old son of Military is quite adept on synthetic surfaces and holds wins against open foes at Woodbine last September and more recently at Presque Isle Downs in June.  Emmanuel Esquivel will ride the Justin Johns-trained gelding who has been assigned 118 pounds.

Kenneth and Sarah Ramsey's Mish Mosh is a seven-time winner at Arlington but winless in five starts this year – four for his current connections including a seventh-place finish against state-breds in Hawthorne's $100,000 Robert S. Molaro Handicap in April.  The 6-year-old son of Bernstein will carry 118 pounds Saturday including jockey James Graham.

Completing the field for the Addison Cammack (with jockey and weight assignment) are: Dean Pantaleo's Roarin Missile (Carlos Montalvo, 114 pounds) and Haran Thoroughbreds' Vbreeze (Santo Sanjur, 112).
