MTA announces subway service changes for

TwinSpires.com Wood Memorial weekend

 

OZONE PARK, N.Y. - The New York City Metropolitan Transit Authority has released a Weekend Service Notice that will affect subway travel to and from Aqueduct Racetrack on TwinSpires.com Wood Memorial weekend, Saturday, April 5 and Sunday, April 6.

 

According to the MTA, there will be no A train service in Brooklyn between Jay St-MetroTech and Utica Avenue, and no C train service between West 4th Street in Manhattan and Euclid Avenue in Brooklyn.

 

Free shuttle buses will provide alternate service in Brooklyn starting on Friday, April 4 at 11:30 p.m. until Monday, April 7 at 5 a.m. Local shuttle buses will make all stops between Jay St-MetroTech and Utica Avenue. Express shuttle buses will run between Jay St-MetroTech and Utica Avenue, stopping at Hoyt-Schermerhorn Streets and Nostrand Avenue.

 

 

A train service will operate in two sections:

* Between 207 Street and Jay St-MetroTech

* Between Utica Avenue and Lefferts Boulevard or Mott Avenue, making local stops

 

C train service will operate between 168th Street and West 4th Street, and via the F to/from 2nd Avenue, the last stop.

 

Travel Alternatives

For service between Manhattan and Brooklyn, take the L train.

* Transfer between the A, C and L trains at 14th Street

* Transfer between the A and L trains at Broadway Junction

 

For service between West 4th Street and Euclid Avenue, take the A train and free shuttle buses (For Spring Street, take the E train. A train local service is available overnight).

* Transfer between buses and A trains at Jay St-MetroTech or Utica Avenue

* Transfer between C,  A and E  trains at West 4th Street
