Robby Albarado, Commanding Curve, 3rd: “He’s progressing every time. I got eliminated at the start, but he ran on so easily. There’s more there.”
Kerwin Clark, Albano,4th : “He broke okay, in a bit, and I straightened him up. We were in a great spot. I had Rosie’s horse clocked [Vicar’s in Trouble], and I had the #9 clocked [In Trouble], but when Gerard’s horse [Rise Up] came up on the outside and then dropped over, In Trouble wheeled out and he hit my horse so hard, it knocked the air out of him. He just couldn’t recover from that.”
Joe Rocco, Jr., In Trouble, 5th: "After Rise Up moved up to the outside, I thought I had the room to get outside of him. It happened quickly, but he relaxed well and tried very hard."
Kent Desormeaux, Flat Gone, 6th: "He was like a 9-year-old. He's bush button. When I pushed the button 3/8's out he took off. Going a little shorter he'll be good. He gave us a run."
James Graham, King Cyrus, 7th: “He struggled the whole way. It felt like he was outpaced the entire time, but he stayed on in the stretch. He just struggled.”
Shaun Bridgmohan, Gold Hawk, 8th: "We got squeezed a bit at the 3/8's pole other than that everything else was pretty smooth. It was a pretty good trip."
Gerard Melancon, Rise Up, 10th: “I don’t know what happened to him today and why he has turned into such a terrible horse at the gate. He was standing perfect, and then he broke straight to the inside and got really aggressive. I don’t know what’s causing that.”
