NEW ORLEANS (Saturday, February 09, 2013) – Andrena Van Doren’s Parabellum proved much the best in Saturday’s $47,000 allowance feature at Fair Grounds, drawing off in the lane for a 4 3/4-length tally.

Ridden by James Graham and trained by Tom Amoss, the 4-year-old altered son of 2008 Kentucky Derby winner Street Sense was unhurried early, beginning his rally between rivals when set down for the drive and increasing his margin late while kept to pressure.

The winner returned mutuels of $7.60, $3.80 and $3.60, increased his career earnings to $77,202 with his second victory in seven starts and toured the 5 1/2 furlongs of the sprint taken off the turf and run on the main track in 1:04.28.

Ken Murphy Thoroughbreds’ Ritz Master, always among the early leaders, continued willingly to be clearly second best finishing two lengths in front of Russell Welch’s Macabe’s Gold.

Ritz Master returned $5.60 and $5.40 and Macabe’s Gold paid $15.20.

Penny Scarberry’s Tin Cat set early fractions of 21.86 and 45.50 before tiring.

Racing resumes Sunday at Fair Grounds with a nine-race program beginning at 1 p.m.
