NEW ORLEANS (Saturday, February 9, 2013) – With a wet Mardi Gras looking more probable by the hour, the Mini Kiss concert set for Fat Tuesday at Fair Grounds Race Course & Slots has been moved indoors to the first floor of the always-dry, climate-controlled Grandstand. The show will begin as scheduled at 4 p.m.

“Anyone looking for a fun and memorable way to spend their Mardi Gras afternoon without getting soaked along the parade routes may want to consider joining us inside the Fair Grounds Grandstand for Mini Kiss and a full card of live Thoroughbred racing,” said Fair Grounds Senior Director of Marketing Mark Conner.

As of Saturday morning, The Weather Channel’s weather.com pegged the chances of thunderstorms with “heavy rainfall” on Fat Tuesday at 70 percent.

Mini Kiss, the Kiss tribute band comprised of “little people,” will perform all of Kiss’s greatest hits, including “Rock and Roll All Nite,” “Detroit Rock City,” “Calling Dr. Love” and “Shout It Out Loud.” General admission for live racing and Mini Kiss will be $5 and advance tickets are available online at FGNO.com/tickets.

With the show moving indoors, track officials have also determined that a break in racing will no longer be necessary to accommodate the music. First post for the nine-race program is 1 p.m. with the final race set to go off at about 5 p.m.

Children 12 and under will be admitted free. For dining and box seat reservations, call (504) 943-2200. To book a party for groups of 25 or more, contact the Group Sales department at (504) 948-1285.
