NEW ORLEANS (Friday, January 25, 2013) – Mike Munna Racing Stables’ Comisky’s Humor, away alertly and quickly in command, drew off steadily until mid-stretch in Friday’s $51,000 allowance and $62,500 optional claiming sprint at Fair Grounds Race Course & Slots but was then all out to last.

Ridden by Richard Eramia and trained by Ron Faucheux, the 4-year-old son of Sharp Humor who was a contestant in last year’s $1 million Louisiana Derby set early fractions of 22:04 and 45 flat before accomplishing the 5 1/2-furlongs of the race taken off the turf and run on the main track in 1:03.86. His margin of victory dwindled to three-quarters of a length at the wire, but as the choice of the fans Comisky’s Humor returned mutuels of $6.80, $4 and $3.40 and increased his career earnings to $94,264 with his fifth victory in seven lifetime starts.

Michael Maker’s Ghost Is Clear finished second, paying $3.40 and $2.20 and Tommy Ray Mills’ Jasizzle got up for third, returning $5.80 to show while 3 1/4-lengths farther back.

Racing resumes Saturday at Fair Grounds with an expanded 12-race program highlighted by four stakes races including the Grade III Col. E. R. Bradley Handicap. Post time is 1 p.m.
