NYRA STATEMENT ON DAN SILVER’S APPOINTMENT TO DIRECTOR OF RACING OPERATIONS AT HOLLYWOOD CASINO AT PENN NATIONAL RACE COURSE

 

ELMONT, N.Y. – The New York Racing Association, Inc. (NYRA) congratulates Dan Silver on his new position as Director of Racing Operations at Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course, which was announced today.

 

“NYRA’s communications department in print, broadcast, and social media is unparalleled in the industry, and we owe that to Dan Silver’s journalism and leadership skills and to his passionate dedication to thoroughbred racing,” said NYRA President and COO Ellen McClain.  “We will all miss Dan’s contributions and we wish him great success at Penn National.”

 

Silver, 32, joined NYRA as Marketing Communications Manager in January 2008 and became Director of Communications and Media Relations in April 2009.  He holds a B.A. from Haverford College and master’s degrees from the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University and the Race Track Industry Program at the University of Arizona.
